Introduction
IAMConcepts engaged to help one of Canada’s largest college develop, implement and manage an end-to-end IAM Program.
Challenge:
One of Canada’s largest colleges with over 20,000 students on campus and 40,000 distant learners from 100 different counties needed a modern identity solution as the current custom tools developed over 20 years ago did not meet the current needs of its employees, faculty, and students.
Solution:
IAMConcepts helped the client evaluate and select the right solution based on their unique requirements and strategic plan. Since the IAM program will affect all the colleges’ stakeholders, resources and existing and future systems, it was key for IAMConcepts to build a strong partnership with the client’s internal teams and breakdown existing siloes.
The newly implemented solution improved the user experience, reduced manual processes while positively impacting operational and security metrics via new processes such as Single Sign On and streamlined new joiner processes. The outcome focused IAM Program allowed students to move from applicant easily and securely to student, employees were now free to move from one application to another without re-entering credentials. Moreover, the IAM Strategy, newly implemented solution and processes employed a results focused performance indicators approach to ensure the strategic objectives of the college and the IAM investments were always in alignment.
